Beer Soap?

I LOVE using beer in soap. Why? Well, I am glad you asked!

Beer contains hops and brewer’s yeast, the two main ingredients that create a skin loving bar of soap. I simply replace the water and use a good beer to make a great bar of soap.

Hops contains skin softening amino acids which can soothe irritated and inflamed skin. The soap retains these skin nourishing benefits. Not only is beer soap moisturizing, but because of the amino acids, it can help to protect your skin against redness and irritation. The amino acids also help coat and repair your hair. The minerals in beer soap help add shine and moisture to your hair and keep your skin soft and supple.

Brewer’s yeast in beer soap acts as an antibacterial agent, great for combating acne. Yeast is rich in vitamins and minerals like riboflavin, biotin, and lots of B vitamins that provide moisturizing qualities for both the skin and hair. Beer soap can help clear acne, soothe dermatitis and eczema while helping to maintain balanced oil levels in your skin.

Last, but not least is the lather. Silky smooth and bubbly, the beer soap creates a lovely lather due to the sugars in the beer itself. And that creates a great shaving soap. Trust me on this one ladies. Beer soap makes a great shaving soap.

And no, you will not smell like a brewery when you come out of the shower. The beer adds a very subtle note to the essential or fragrance oils added to the soap for the scent.

Till next time
